Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the early fiction attempts by Libuše Moníková which were written around 1972 and are now a part of the Libuše Moníková inheritance located in the Museum of Czech Literature in Prague. The up to now unpublished drafts are summarized and described here, the author dwells on the differences between the original Czech texts and their German counterparts. The drafts are seen as documents of the move from Czech to German as the means of the creative process. The article inquires into the use of the drafts in later novels on the level of themes and narrative strategies (in e.g. Eine Schädigung, Der Taumel). The author sees the early drafts as a subtext of the oeuvre of Libuše Moníková.
