Summary/Abstract: Oud, which is one of the stringed instruments of Turkish music, has a distinctive feature in terms of tone, as well as having a deep-rooted history. It has a bass-like sound and in this sense leaves a sensational effect on the listener, and it draws attention with this feature compared to other instruments with treble frequencies. Thanks to these features; It has an important place among the instruments used in Turkish music. The main subject of this research is the structural features of the oud, which is also considered as the guitar of Turkish music and has a different style among the instruments used in Turkish music with its harmonic structure. The research was carried out in order to examine the parts that make up the parts of the oud instrument in detail, to reveal its physical structure and to better understand the factors that affect the formation of the sound structure. And the necessary literature review was made by revealing the unknown technical nuances during the making of the instrument. In this study, the general scanning pattern of the survey model, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used, and the descriptive analysis method was utilized in the analysis and interpretation of the data. The subject of the research is to introduce the structural details of the oud instrument to the researchers and enthusiasts working in this field, and to discuss the resulting sound character. And for this purpose, it is aimed to be a useful study that serves as a guide. At the same time, suggestions were made on how to convey the sound of the oud to the listeners better.
