Summary/Abstract: The need to seek new leadership has not lost its relevance. Despite many known concepts that try to explain the phenomenon of organization leadership, many issues remain still open. The need for further research is also enforced by currently observed changes, such as globalization processes, changes in the labor market, restructuring of company structures or increasingly visible cultural and generational differences. New leadership is not a homogeneous and closed concept. It is a current of theoretical and empirical research, focusing on issues such as organizational vision, charisma, raising innovation, inspiring, motivating employees, knowledge management and own career. The aim of this paper is to show the essence of transactional, transformational and charismatic leadership. The article presents the characteristics of individual types of leaders and shows the differences between the above concepts and tries to highlight their deficits.
