Summary/Abstract: The pandemic context caused by the Sars Cov 2 virus worldwide has prompted countries to reorient their public policies towards the implementation of digitised services in many areas. A particularly important aspect that many countries have not taken into account is the redefinition of the legal framework for the identification of individuals. The identification of individuals has a particularly important role to play in the sphere of social relations, especially in the current pandemic context. This is why, together with name, personal number code and civil status, the domicile is the most important element of a person's identification. In essence, every European citizen is guaranteed the right of free choice of residence, and the new Romanian Civil Code recognises every natural person's right to domicile or residence. Even if the notions of domicile or residence are traditionally closely related to a person's main or secondary residence, the concept of electronic domicile requires a different approach and an appropriate legal framework.
