Summary/Abstract: The territory of the state represents the geographical space, delimited by the state borders, composed of land, water and airspace over which the state exercises its full and exclusive sovereignty. The state territory is one of the material, natural premises of the existence of the state as an original subject of public international law, without which the people cannot exercise their right to selfdetermination and cannot organize politically in the state. In this context, this article aims to present the main aspects of the territory - a constituent element of the state, with some considerations regarding the characteristics of Romania's territory in the light of the constitutional provisions.
