ABraSD's Second Year In RCSL's 50th: Remarks about Sociology of Law in Brazil

Summary/Abstract: The present article has, as its main goal, to try to analyse what was, is and can become of ABraSD. In order to do this, the present paper reports the development of sociology of law in Brazil, comparing and contrasting this with the creation of the RCSL. Not only was the history on the foundation of such an iconic committee researched, but so also were the most highly discussed subjects and problems faced during its years. In order to better evaluate the reality of the ABraSD and its future, hard data was compiled about the execution of research studies that were published in the media, as well as specifications regarding the authors, subjects, and potential new members who could contribute to the growth of sociology of law in the peripheral country that is Brazil.
