TRANSARCHITECTURE. CONFLUENCES OF ARCHITECTURE AND CONTEMPORARY ARTS

Summary/Abstract: The media lab`s events and installations, components of the contemporary cultural landscape, are the referent of renewing. Today, the novelty`s relation with the architecture doesn`t imply much more than artistic aspect. Architects with interests in computer-science or new media & contemporary arts are concerned by the overtaking of the mimesis. In remembrance of the modernist past, are we capable to answer to a paradigmatic question: in which form it is associated the new aesthetic of architecture? The transarchitecture, as a personification of the present trends, bundle a well-defined domain of experiments. There are related with the interfaces human - computer - physical space, in a synthesis of organic ambient intelligence, achievable with the actual digital technologies. Few questions about its domain can be already laid down: connected with the present socio-economic changes, can we identify a new interest in these fields? Are these parts of a new architectural aesthetic? In the affirmative case, which are the specific forms? In the following pages, some hypothesis will be taking shape.
