Summary/Abstract: Forecasts, but also official statistics indicate for Romania large and very large increases in gross domestic product. Thus, values of 7% for 2021 are mentioned, and if the increases from the third quarter of 2021 to the previous quarter of the previous year are reported, the values exceed 13%. The question therefore arises as to whether or not these increases are reflected in the income and consumption of the population. Also, if GDP growth is not found in the incomes of the population where they appear and who are the beneficiaries of these increases. Consequently, this Communication seeks to answer the question of how much of this growth is reflected in the living standards of the population. The Communication also aims to answer the question of why these increases are bypassing the general public and whether this view is merely an illusion.
