Summary/Abstract: The University Stage opened on the 30th of September 1957 in the chapel of the Eötvös Loránd University. This paper depicts how the University Stage came to be, and the repertoire structure of children’s theatre it operated. As case studies, it presents the child theatre performances Kati Sólyom’s Fairy Tale Ball from 1971, Péter Levente’s and Ildikó Döbrentey’s House That Touched the Ground from 1976, and Good Morning and Good Evening from 1978.
