Summary/Abstract: Despite the positive results of employee attachment at both the individual and organizational level, there is to date no clear and agreed definition of this concept. In the face of multiple definitions of the notion of attachment, the multitude of terms used to describe it in the Polish literature, and the interchangeable use of the two terms "commitment" and "engagement", the article will be devoted to explaining the differences between work engagement and organizational attachment, and to determining the relation between the two constructs. Selected interpretations of these distinct constructs will be presented, allowing their dissimilarities and characteristics to be distinguished. Selected interpretations of these separate constructs will be presented, enabling the identification of their differences and characteristics, which will help to organize the approaches and definitions related to the concepts of employee engagement/organizational commitment.
