Summary/Abstract: Many interrelated processes characterize the path of Slovenia on its way from former Yugoslav republic to EU member state. Processes similar to great extent have been characteristic for Republic of Macedonia, too. The author explains those processes in more details, especially referring to the creation of own state, political and economic transition, europeization and globalization. Through his speech, the author is sending a message and recommendations for the other countries of the former Yugoslavia, for their faster adjustment for life in the EU and NATO. Since, according to him, all of the former Yugoslav republics have had same starting possibilities, but they have all went by different routes. The Slovenian as a successful one, can serve as an experience for the others.
