Summary/Abstract: Humanity has found itself at an extremely difficult time of trial due to the pandemic. First aid is designed to reduce the spread of the hostile Covid-19 coronavirus. There are already around 28 million new infections and 920,000 deaths worldwide. Both the secularcommunity and the Church community have been put to the test and face new challenges. Psychotherapeutic methods, resilience, empathy and mutual communication of states of mind are some of the possible first aid tools in the framework of Pastoral Counseling. The Apostolic Letter „Salvifici Doloris” by John Paul II sheds light on the meaning of suffering understood as a trial, atonement, remorse, substitute suffering or redemptive suffering. The phenomenon of suffering, born in France in the 20th century, which glorifies suffering and accepts passive submission to it, contradicts the Christian vision of suffering. Hope enlightened by the Word of God opens to the dynamism of future pastoral activities and the emphasis on closeness in interpersonal relations.
