The Internet lexeme as an object of spelling considerations

Summary/Abstract: The article presents normative considerations concerning the spelling of the Internet lexeme. The review of particular decisions and opinions published in dictionaries, online language counselling and books popularizing knowledge about the Polish language is preceded by the most important information on the ontology of the medium, as well as an indication of correctness problems related to the use of the word. The adopted course of considerations will aim to indicate weaknesses of the proposed solutions, which — in the author’s opinion — require more detail or modification so that they can be effectively used by users of language.
