METHODOLOGICAL CONSIDERATIONS OF CULTURAL TOURISM

Summary/Abstract: Cultural tourism represents a relatively new area that at first glance represents a combination of culture and tourism. However, it is a complex phenomenon, and a multidisciplinary field in which researchers with different academic backgrounds are increasingly working together. In such a context, there is a multidisciplinary approach to research that gradually evolves into an interdisciplinary approach where the perspectives and approaches of different disciplines are synthesized. The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the historical development of methodological approaches to research in tourism and cultural tourism, present current trends, and different methodological approaches and instruments with their advantages and disadvantages.
