Summary/Abstract: The invasion of Ukraine by the army of the Russian Federation, on February 24, 2022, represented a triggering moment of a fundamental social transformation at the level of the collective mind. At the same time, 2022 closed a cycle of violent military events that took place in this century. The bombing and occupation of a large area of Ukraine by Russian army soldiers also meant the development of widespread social fear about the effects of the occupation and the violence it generated. The atrocities that took place in the occupied territories generated a phenomenon of exodus and depopulation unique in the European space after the fall of the Iron Curtain. The transformation of the collective mind and the reign of terror led to polarizations of individuals and the community who believed that such atrocities were no longer possible after the end of the Second World War. In this study we will present the types of responsibilities related to the acts committed by the military as well as the way of investigating them according to the rules of domestic and international law.
