Summary/Abstract: The article provides a description of the alternative press model, emerging from the comparison between editorial politics of British magazines associated with the contestation movement of the 1960s. and the 1970s. with the strategies undertaken twenty years later by a Polish magazine, aiming at creating a new model of culture in the post-transformation Poland. Similarities between these two phenomena occur not only on the level of the conscious continuation of the counterculture themes or the editorial practices of the English underground, undertaken by “bruLion”, but also in the evolution of editorial activities as well as in the reception of these phenomena.
