Summary/Abstract: The decision of the UN General Assembly, on 29th November 1947, to divide Palestine into two states met with the dissatisfaction of Arab countries. One of these countries was Egypt. There was a political and social debate in the country about participation in the war against Jews, planned by members of the Arab State League. It resulted from it that the country would not join the war. A few days before the invasion, Egyptian politicians made a political change and decided to participate in the campaign. This decision was a surprise to everyone. The war was not planned as the implementation of political and diplomatic intentions. The society and even the army were not prepared for such an eventuality.
