Summary/Abstract: This review article entitled „Wobec wyzwań nowej edukacji humanistycznej” („Facing the challenges of new humanistic education”) takes up various issues of contemporary Polish language didactics, appearing in publications by Maria Kwiatkowska--Ratajczak and Michał Ratajczak. The article focuses on the authors’ longterm reflections on school Polish language education, both in the perspective of contemporary humanistic education and historical sources as well as widely understood literary tradition and social and cultural contexts. Both publications deserve to be appreciated due to the Authors’ research conducted in the field of Polish language teaching – both in the context of didactic theory and teaching practices.
