Summary/Abstract: The Conference of Versailles was organised from January 18th, 1919 till January 21st, 1920. Motto of this Conference was, bringing to an end the war state between confronting states, the Antanta states on one side, and those of the Central Block on the other side. The Conference from the very start was turned to a strife arena between the winning forces because of division of war trophies. In those circumstances, the risk of further partition of Albania became more endangering than ever. Conducting of the course of events would decide some internal and external factors, and the external factor did not take the position favourable for Albanians. The Duress Government, in the name of Albanian people, presented to the Conference of Versailles the following demands: 1. To be returned to the Albanian state the independence, recognised and guaranteed by the London Conference of 1913. 2. To be returned to the Albanian state Albanian lands given to Montenegro with decisions of the Berlin Congress and the London Conference of 1913. 3. To be returned to the Albanian state Albanian lands give to Serbia with decisions of the London Conference of 1013. 4. To be returned to the Albanian state Albanian lands given to Greece with decisions of the London Conference of 1913. Within these internal and external circumstances at the beginning of 1920, the position of Albania became very critical, but there were not fulfilled all the requirements of the greedy (swallowing) neigh-bouring states. Although the Conference of Versailles did not take into consideration the demands of the Albanians and their delegates, the endeavours of Albanian patriots contain an undisputable argument of the will of Albanians to fight for protection of independence and invulnerability of fatherland.
