Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of diachrony and its place in dialectology. Authors refer to the fact that both diachrony and synchrony are the characteristics of any language development. The evidence of importance of diachrony is based on concrete examples those also prove the necessity to learn Ukrainian-Polish (as well as Ukrainian-Russian) language connections.
