The Concept of Structure in Sociology and the Process of Social Transformation

Summary/Abstract: The extreme dynamics of contemporary development brings to the fore the elaboration of sociological theory of the processes of transformation in society. The article argues that social transformations are structural transformations and are a consequence of the structural differentiation of the social. Thus the article analyses the concepts of structure, mainly of Radclife-Brown and Levi-Strausse, as well as the concept of structural differentiation. On this basis the article attempts to reveal and present transformational models.
