Summary/Abstract: This paper is meant to demonstrate that Emily Dickinson`s poetry follows closely the poetic percepts of Walt Whitman, emphasizing America as the true province of their poetry, the role of loss and pain-in making of the Poet, simplicity and harmony with the surrounding world - one of their goal to be attained, the prevalence of inspiration upon tuition , sensuality and science – as poetic materials, their attitude towards the reader and their style outside any traditional poetic scheme.
