Summary/Abstract: Cultural tourism is a selective form of tourism that differs from other forms of tourism according to the motive of the trip, which is directed towards a cultural experience. Culturally motivated trips include visiting various cultural manifestations, festivals, concerts, and historical sites with the aim of studying and participating in cultural content and attractions. The International Children's Festival has been held in Šibenik since 1958, and is based on three components: the child, the city and the festival events. The festival is a place where children can show and develop their creativity and various artistic creations through various activities and games. The forms of art in which children participate are: puppetry, film, drama, painting, music and literature. During the festival, the city of Šibenik turns into a large children's playground full of games, imagination and illusion. The importance of this festival has also been recognized by world organizations. Children from different continents participate in the festival through different creative works. For the purposes of this paper, research was conducted through a survey questionnaire on respondents' preferences for cultural tourism, respondents' awareness of the activities of the International Children's Festival, and respondents' participation in the festival.
