Summary/Abstract: Sofia Nădejde (1856-1946) was an ardent feminist and she militated all her life for women’s emancipation being highly influenced by the famous work On the Subjection of Women written by John Stuart Mill (1869). Both her literary and journalist works approached forbidden issues of those times as domestic violence, divorce, incest, birth control, feminism, celibacy, virginity, lack of sexual education, prostitution, sex roles, sexual division of labor.
