Summary/Abstract: The article briefly analyzes scientific and popular science publications, mostly monographs and brochures on Subcarpathian Ruthenia (Podkarpatskaya Rus), which were published in 1919–1939. Most of these publications have been published in Czech and have been available to Ukrainian researchers only since 1991. The author conditionally distinguishes at least two stages of these publications: 1919 – the first half of the 1920s – a period of increased interest of Czech researchers in the history and culture of Subcarpathian Ruthenia, characterized by the release of a large number of studies, mostly informative; the second half of the 1920's – 1930's – the emergence of thorough work with an analysis of socio-political, socio-economic, cultural and educational situation of Subcarpathian Ruthenia as part of Czechoslovakia. In these works, a modern researcher will find a huge amount of factual material about life in Subcarpathian Ruthenia (1919–1939). The steady interest in these publications is evidenced by the fact that a significant number of works at the turn of 2010 were republished in reprint. Invaluable for historians, ethnographers, researchers of sacred art are photographs of Czech government officials, travelers, published then (or now) in the form of photo albums.
