Exploring the Inequalities, based on Gender Differences in Everyday Discursive Practices

Summary/Abstract: One of the main aims of this article is to demonstrate the way of functioning of one of the hidden mechanisms for the legitimate construction of inequalities in everyday interactions based on gender differences. Through the specific uses of language and the organization of everyday conversations, the social world is unreflectively objectified by the participants functioning in it, and thus various unequal relationships can arise, hidden but quite legitimately, based on the inevitably existing differences (of any nature) between the participants. This article explores the relevant topic, drawing on the main ethnomethodological theoretical and methodological concepts for analyzing the social world.
