Summary/Abstract: Prof. dr. S. H. Lieben (1881—1942), the founder of the pre-war Jewish Museum in Prague, was also the leading representative of Jewish studies in pre-war Prague. The article informs the readers about his scientific activities and works focused, above all, on the cultural history of Jews in the Czech lands, mainly Prague, and Hebrew sources (manuscripts, chronicles, and others) concerning the subject.
