Summary/Abstract: The article presents a collective portrait of the profes- sors who headed university chairs of economics or economics-related depart- ments in the interwar period. Such structures were established at each of the six universities that were then in operation. Individual sections of the text describe the professors’ place of birth and social background; their education, professional and academic career before receiving the chair; their academic activity (including, in particular, publications); their teaching activities; their functions at the university; their political and social activities, and their fam- ily life. The fate of professors after 1939 is also outlined.
