Summary/Abstract: The article presents the phenomenon of commercial exploitation of successful models of European cinema in the form of a Hollywood remake. The beginning of these processes is traced far back to the changes of the 1980’s and the 1990’s associated with the globalisations of the world film market. The illustrative examples of the American-standard remake of classics by European masters of previous decades date back to that period. Based on the French model for market cooperation between Europe and Hollywood, contemporary trends are emerging related to the changes in the world cinema markets.
