Summary/Abstract: The article presents Anna Teresa Tymieniecka’s work and philosophy, which centres around epistemological and axiological optimism and opposes the all too easy pessimism and nihilism. Particularly interesting insights are offered by the passages in which Tymieniecka’s concepts of ‘philosophical faith’ and metaphysical ‘romanticims’ as well as her phenomenological road into epistemological optimism are discussed. The author emphasises Tymieniecka’s turn towards the ideas rejected by contemporary philosophies. He also comments on her refined hermetical language, which abounds in meanings and metaphors.
