European Educational Research Association Summer School 2022

Summary/Abstract: The European Educational Research Association (EERA) regularly organizes the European Educational Research Summer School (EERSS) to support emerging researchers. The aim is to facilitate the professional development of novice researchers by providing them with opportunities to acquire new knowledge, establish contacts within the European community, and utilize their experiences in their future research endeavors. The 2022 edition of the summer school took place in Porto, Portugal, after a two-year hiatus due to epidemiological measures. It was hosted by the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences at the University of Porto and focused on "Research Design from Scratch," guiding 74 participants through the process of designing research projects from conceptualization to methodology. The program included plenary lectures, workshops, and a day trip to the University of Minho. Participants engaged in intensive group work, sharing experiences, and receiving feedback from experienced researchers. Key themes included research ethics, reflexivity, and methodological approaches. The event concluded with presentations of dissertation projects, fostering reflection and knowledge exchange among participants.
