Summary/Abstract: Providing for citizens in time of old age is an issue for every society. Pension levels are significantly determined by demographic structure, individual attitudes and economic growth. On this basis, every country has built its system of Social Security. In conditions where birth rates are falling and people’s average life expectancy is extended, the number of retired, is growing at much faster pace than the growth rates of the labor force. In this context, the old system of social security - “Pay As You Go” (PAYG) pension is moving increasingly towards the inability to meet the needs of “third population”. These new situations, pose today before the social security system, some alternatives. First, “A systems should be reformed Pay As You Go pension? If so, what system should be adopted - Modified PAYG - completely private pension system, or a rotational system with many schemes (column)? Among the measures to be thought to improve the pensions market can say with full conviction is the development of private pension schemes.
