Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the different views on the management of civil sector organizations. The main emphasis is the understanding of non-profit organizations' effectiveness and accountability in an attempt to capture their specificity. Ultimately, it is consistently argued that effectiveness in non-profit organizations should be systematically measured with the leading role of the communities, key stakeholders, and various external verification systems.
