Summary/Abstract: The Serbian census of 1862/63 includes information about the property and income of the census population. Most property was owned by men, but a minority of women had some possession of their own. Most of them were either heirs of their husband or their father. This paper will take a closer look at these propertied women and the characteristics of them and their property.
