Summary/Abstract: The multi-culturalism and the diversity of genres create the essential conditions for an adequate integration of the oboe and the English horn on the stage of world music. Factors of fundamental importance for developing a wider interest and establishing their place in contemporary musical practice are the inclusion of these instruments in similar projects, experimentation with their use in non-traditional styles and formations, and the creation and dissemination of a specific repertoire that attracts the attention of young musicians to these instruments. In a modern world where different cultures and genres interact more than ever before, it is natural that hybridity is a major means of artistic innovation.
