Summary/Abstract: The article presents changes in the method and scope of data collected and processed about citizens by government administration that have occurred over the last 15 years. During this time, there has been a significant increase in the number of areas in which data is collected, as well as the level of detail of the data itself. The reasons for the changes are the development of technologies for managing large data sets, adapting legislation to EU standards, increasing the number of public benefits and services, and increasing the scope of control and supervision exercised by administrative bodies.
