Summary/Abstract: In recent years, in the countries in Central and Eastern Europe, crime has reached impressive rates, especially in countries such as Yugoslavia, Albania and Bulgaria. The author underlines the fact that we can talk about the degradation of civil order, inflation, and black market in our country too. The opening of borders in the region has facilitated the migration of people and goods, thus boosting the free market and, unfortunately, the organised crime. Organised crime groups, juggling the financial power they have, have managed to get very quickly especially to these democracies in infancy. Each of the countries in Central, Southern and Eastern Europe has its own history of this period, marked by significant instability and by real and, unfortunately, effective offensive of organised crime.
