Summary/Abstract: The end of the 20th century brought with it a review and a reassessment of the military phenomenon, taking out the concept of demilitarisation of the war from the laboratories of military thinking. In condensed form, it must be said that not only that the use of armed forces is no longer a priority, in terms of emergency or importance, but it began to be left somewhere behind, becoming an alternative, secondary solution. In the age of globalisation and connectivity, in the author’s opinion, the most important roles are played by economy and information. The aggressions and threats of the contemporaneity cannot have purely military solutions and the old mentality is counterproductive, leading to unnecessary consumption of resources and efforts, being doomed to failure.
