Summary/Abstract: In this short paper, the author provides a very interesting document for insight. That document is the Statut of Guild of a Painter from Herat from 16th century that is accredited to Imam Ja'afar al-Sadiq. The first part of this Statut describes the creation of painting in Islam and the role of angel Jibril in this act. The second part talks about obligations of a painter. The Statut has been found in the handwritten inheritance of one of the founders of Bosniak and Bosnian-Herzegovinian modern painting Behaudin Selmanovic (1915-1972).
