Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to present the essence and importance of biological traces in the form of zoological traces as well as entomological and osmological traces obtained with the help of specially trained dogs and to show the role they play in forensic science and finding the truth in a criminal trial. With the development of technology and DNA research, the role of animals and animal traces is constantly growing and can often be evidence of acrime and lead investigators to the person guilty of the prohibited act. However, the jurisprudence emphasizes the need for acritical approach to the evidence obtained in this way and the implementation of mutual control of evidence in this respect
