Emotional intelligence and psychopathic traits

Summary/Abstract: Emotional intelligence helps us understand and interpret correctly both ourselves and the people we interact with. This competence positively influences a fulfilling life and better relationships in both personal and professional environments. The subject of consideration, is the essence of emo- tional intelligence. The question of its relationship with psychopathic traits is raised. For this pur- pose, an overview of the concept of emotional intelligence and its development was made. After its main components have been examined, their deficiency in the presence of psychopathic personality disorder has also been analyzed. The study of features in the psychopathic personality, which give clarity to some difficult-to-explain traits in her behavior, which are directly related to the concept of emotional intelligence, is reported.
