Summary/Abstract: The article highlights episodes from the history of the fi rst and only Philosophical Institute in Bulgaria. The main focus is the earlier years and decades of the existence of the Institute. The activity of the institute and the changes in the academic staff are presented with the use of documented facts. Other facets of the history of the institute are also discussed.
