Summary/Abstract: The article examines the formative dimension of life experience in the lifelong learning process. In this context, the questions are addressed: What is the relationship between experience and learning?; What is the formative role of experiences?, What is the role of reflection?, What is the relationship of learning to biography? and others. This article presents concepts from some contemporary authors in the field of adult learning such as Gaston Pinault, Pierre Dominisse, Marie-Christine Jossault, Peter Alheit and Bettina Dausien.
