Summary/Abstract: On April 2nd, 2004, Romania’s national flag was raised, together with the ones of the other 25 states, at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels. The event marked the end of a period of great transformations in the Romanian society, the military body implicitly, materialised in the expression of our country steady option of adhering to the West-European democratic values and of defending them through the agency of the instruments that are specific to collective security
