Summary/Abstract: The presence of the Transylvanian people in the schools of Europe is not an unknown theme in Romanian historiography. Less well known is their presence in Slovak schools. The present study discusses the role of Ján Čaplovič's Bibliography and the Hungarian bibliographies RMNy and RMK in identifying Transylvanian students and scholars present in the 17th century in today's Slovak school environment. The research is developed on two levels, students of predominantly Evangelical religion, who attended colleges or gymnasiums in eastern Slovakia: Prešov, Bardejov, Levoča, as well as in Košice and Bratislava. Priests or teachers from Transylvania sometimes took part in the educational or social-cultural activities. The second level of approach is based on the presence of Roman Catholic students at the two Jesuit universities in Trnava and Košice.Bibliographies have provided us with an important source for identifying the names of Transylvanian pupils/students or scholars of the Evangelical religion, who contributed in writing to the publication of short texts related to local social events in the localities of northern and eastern Slovakia, which were printed in the printing houses of the time. Their names can be identified as appendices to the title pages in the bibliographies mentioned and what is important, many of them will not be recognized among future intellectuals. From this sub-chapter distinguishes the future encyclopaedist Johannes Honterus, Jacobus Schnitzler, Johannes Artzt and others. The number of those identified is approx. 70. Research applied to students and teachers, which is related to the functioning of the universities of Trnava and Košice revealed the publication of dissertations or partial examinations taken by Transylvanians. The correlation of special works by the authors Krisztina Bognár, József Mihály Kiss, Júlia Varga and Zsofia Kádár, Beáta Kiss, Ágnes Póka with the results obtained from bibliographies revealed other names of Transylvanian students and scholars, among whom Gabriel Ivul from Caransebeș stands out in particular. Our research brings a total of about 115 pupils, students and scholars, who have linked some years of their lives to the school environment in Slovakia. Their names kept thanks to bibliographies, often unknown to Romanian historiography, contribute to the enrichment of knowledge about the formation of the intellectuals in Transylvania in the 17th century.
