Summary/Abstract: After the revolution of 1989, Romanian television undergoes a great change both in the time of television broadcasting, as well as in the number of channels that begin to broadcast and in the type of programs dedicated to the public. Therefore, the change in the type of television requires a change in the labor market for audiovisual translators. The considerable number of foreign programs requires an increase in the number of specialized courses aimed at professionals in this field and an increase in the languages that must be translated into the target language, in our case in the Romanian language. Likewise, our objective in this article is to analyze the type of academic training of audiovisual translators and the skills they need, given that this type of translation has a wide variety of audiences and a wide range of programs.
