Summary/Abstract: In the period from the latter part of the 19th century to the first decades of the 20th century, certain scientific tests in the pharmaceutical field were successfully confirmed, which generated a positive trend in the way medical prescriptions were prepared and administered. The historical definition of pharmacology in the temporary context between the two World Wars was characterized, in particular, by its legality, thus placing the field of medicine in the legislative sphere. The way in which pharmacies worked in the interwar period was regulated by a series of successive legislative acts designed to address various organizational issues relating to the role of pharmacies in public health services. The first health law in the interwar period in Romania was issued in 1921. Summarizing the time and space of the interwar period, it can be seen that in 1928 Caraș County had five urban and ten rural pharmacies, the number of which remained constant in 1935. On the other hand, the area of pharmacies in the interwar period was limited to four locations: Salvator (Megváltó, a Hungarian phrase that translates as the Saviour), La Vulturul, Maria Ajutătoare and the pharmacy of Doctor Elisabeta Elekes. The interwar census indicated that Reșița had about 24,000 inhabitants, and according to the 1929 Health Law, a pharmacy had to serve at least 5,000 inhabitants, so the number of pharmacies in the town on the banks of the Bârzava was considered insufficient. At the same time, the coverage area of the pharmaceutical services was spread over three streets in close proximity in Reșița Română. Owners of their own businesses, the pharmacists of Reșița have been professionally oriented towards satisfying their customers, but also towards increasing their profits, actively involved in maintaining the health of the population.
