Summary/Abstract: The presentation of the exhibit Miner’s House from Țebea from the end of the 19th century, located at the Brad Museum of Local History and Ethnography, is an attempt to illustrate the traditional construction methods and techniques in the area of the “Moților Crișeni Land”. The paper presents all the stages of building a traditional house from the choice of construction material to the last element – the roof. The presentation includes information about the organization of the household, the plan of the living space and detailed descriptions of the construction methods. Wood processing techniques and how to make the roof in two versions are exhibited: with straw and with shingles. The images accompanied all stages of construction, illustrating the entire process of making a traditional house. In addition to its museum importance, the wooden house with pitchfork is the tangible support around which the rich traditions and customs originating from the deep spirituality specific to the Apuseni Mountains population can be remembered. The traditional houses are not just inert exhibits, but they represented fundamental elements in the life of the Apuseni Mountain communities. The house from Țebea accompanies the story of a mining family from the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. The house is the “scenery” in which not only everyday life took place, but also the great moments of life: birth, marriage, death. In and around the house, all the gestures that mark these “passing” were performed, as well as all the rituals occasioned by the various feasts. Benefiting from the valuable information gathered from the elders who directly knew and practiced the local traditions and customs, all these elements of folk spirituality are briefly recorded in our presentation.
