Summary/Abstract: This source edition offers a translation of letter correspondence between Father Félicité Robert de Lamennais and Laura Tarnowska, née Potocka, in 1829-1833, which was a time filled with events that were important not only for the authors’ native countries but also their personal biographies. The letters provide important information related to the situation of the Church in France and the Polish Kingdom, considering his activities intended to foster renewal in the Church, especially his efforts to cultivate modern pastoral and educational initiatives. They also illustrate endeavours to transplant ideas for religious renewal, especially in education, to Poland. The epistolary dialogue also attests to the friendship between Laura Tarnowska and Father Lamennais, her mentor and spiritual guide, manifested in freely expressed emotions, reflections and opinions on religious, social and political issues.
