Summary/Abstract: Alexander Hadjitoshev is the heir of a famous and influential family from Vratsa, an alert and educated patriot, with a pronounced potential for participation in public and political life. Alexander Dimitriev actively participated in the mediation between the Ottoman authorities and the insurgent regions of Vidinsko, Kulsko and Belogradchisko in 1850. As a result of this mediation, his influence in the administrative circles of the empire and the patronage of Stefan Bogoridi, he was nominated as the kapu-kehaya of the intended administrative autonomous region in the insurgent regions.
